Dave Dribbon & The Stomping Rain
Whether the band is playing a show in their hometown of Asheville, traveling around the southern U.S. meeting up to play with other musicians, or in a Nashville studio working on original songs for their upcoming album, Dave Dribbon and The Stomping Rain’s music is their life. The band, comprised of Dave (vocals, guitar, formerly of Ten Hollow), Carson White (bass) and Kent Spillmann (drums, formerly of Ten Hollow), have kept some of the Ten Hollow (Americana/Rock) songs in the Stomping Rain repertoire but also have incorporated more of a rockin' sound to new material. Having grown up on Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Jeff Buckley and Paul Simon as musical inspiration, Dave's vocals are often described as gritty and sincere. This serves as the base for the band's sound which is a combination of straight rock with a layer of roots rock.
Finding the right material or story for songs has never been an issue. Songwriting comes naturally to Dave as he's constantly moved by everyday life, love (past and present) and his visual surroundings. On songs like "Were You A Fool Like Me," Dave notes that the storyline has been sung about a hundred times, but a simple twist can sometimes shine a new shade on something that’s already great. Veteran producer, Lari White has produced and co-written with Dave. Along with Lari, previous collaborators: Phil Madeira, Steve Sinatra, Micah Thomas and Chris Budro were also some of the amazing musicians that have helped bring some of Dave’s songs to life. This is a LIVE BAND! You will walk away humming their tunes while having had the experience of a truly soulful Roots Rock performance.
