In Brooklyn, New York, on May 14th, Roberto Rivera Jr. was born. His mother and father were born on the island of Puerto Rico. When his mother was four months pregnant with him, his father was murdered. She then relocated to New York City where she met his stepfather. At the age of 6, his mother decided to leave and live on her own. At the age of 19, Robb’s mother was murdered during a robbery while he was incarcerated.
Music and writing poetry was always a passion of his. It took him a while to find his flow, but his passion for music never dissipated. He chose to write about the tragedies in his life as a release and an outlet. A family member inspired him to let the world know about his trials and tribulations and his happiness through music. That’s when Robb Dough, the lyricist, was born.
Today, Robb continues to inspire the world with lyrics of truth and sorrow through music for all to bear witness to the struggles of a young boy trying to become a man. He hopes to inspire people, to let people know that if he could get through it, there is no reason they can’t too.
He was part of the cast of Pitbull’s La Esquina Season 2. He met artists such as Sendog from Cypress Hill, Baby Sham, Frankie Needles, K-Fox, DJ Laz, DJ Chronic, DJ Ique, Rock City, Meciless Mob and Charlie Hustle, to name a few. He combined music and the skills as a barber into one and delivers his talents as a master barber with music and laughter. He had the pleasure of meeting Kid Capri and Big Tigger along the way while styling in the barbershop and was involved in filming a show at club Bardot for M-1 from Dead Prez and Bazaar Royal, as well as NYM and Lord Jamar from Brand Nubian.
Robb continues to move forward with an unorthodox style of music. As they say, he is part man, part machine. Are you ready?
