Joe Maye began his vocal career performing covers on Spirit Cruises at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD. Prior to that, Joe dabbled in commercial modeling and photography. Motivated to make a career of his odd sense of creativity and sultry voice, Joe released his first EP, "Set Free", in October 2012. (Now available for download on Bandcamp and Audiomack.) Since then, Joe has delivered crowd pleasing performances for events such as Drink the District and in venues such as The Hamilton Live, The Howard Theater, & The W Hotel. Just recently his band, "Joe Maye & Thee H Collective" took home the crown as winners for the National Harbors "Battle of the Bands". He was also selected by the Washington City Paper's "Best of DC 2014" as a runner up for the cities best singer. In August 2014 Joe Maye released a four song EP entitled "Her Song".
"Releasing this EP was really important to me because it had been so long since I last released a body of work. And I've been working with some really dope, musicians, producers, and writers, I just wanted use this opportunity to give people a taste of that sound I've developed over the past few years".
It would be unrealistic to fit Joe Maye in any specific genre of music as his music combines elements of rock, pop, R&B, alternative, and soul. "Her Song" is available now on iTunes, Spotify, and Beats Music, and be on the look out for his live album "Live at the Treehouse" set to release later this year.
