Buffalo, New York native MaryBeth King picked up the guitar at age 12 and has never looked back. She received her Bachelor’s of Music degree in performance from Villa Maria College of Buffalo, and has played various venues including the Lafayette Tap Room, Hard Rock Café, Blu Martini, Caputis, The Town Pub. and many more. MaryBeth’s talent can also be enjoyed regularly at Clarence Center Coffee Co., where she captivates her audience with her original songs.
MaryBeth has been said to sound like Sarah McLaughlan with her soothing, melodic voice. Armed with her left-handed acoustic guitar, she continues to expand her musical horizons by recently adding the keyboard and ukulele to her shows. She also uses a loop pedal to add to her songwriting and live performances. Her rhythmic guitar playing, spot-looped percussion and backing vocals make for a multi-faceted live sound. MaryBeth’s musical influences include Ani DiFranco, Third Eye Blind, Sara Bareilles, Sheryl Crow and KT Tunstall among others, and covers many of their most widely loved songs.
Expect to be enraptured if you dare…MaryBeth’s joyous energy is contagious, often encouraging her audience to participate in such ways that people often find themselves laughing and grabbing something percussive to jam along without a second thought.
Look for MaryBeth’s upcoming acoustic CD release, which will be available soon!
