On September 19, 1990 in Moss Point, Mississippi Jerry Asiel Thompson, better known by his stage name Jasiel (Ace), was born into a musically inclined family. From a young age he sang, composed songs and played instruments. As he grew older, he began to experiment with different styles of music and found his favorite expression through rap. In 5th grade, he began writing songs and battle rapping with his friends. He lost consistently! However that fueled his passion causing him to take it more seriously and get better.
Rapping became a hobby as Jasiel focused most of his energy on basketball and band. While basketball was a bittersweet experience, his time in band was inspirational and drew him closer to the importance of good music from various genres. Through band Jasiel became a better-rounded person.
As time progressed, Jasiel began rapping in his local church where his parents were the Pastors. He began free styling during youth services. It was then that he learned to expand and adapt his own musical style. After a few years of making music with no concrete direction and varying verses, he began to write again.
Jasiel is now focused on making quality music with a positive message. He enjoys producing, writing and arranging music whether it is his genre songs or songs for someone else. He continues to aspire to improve his writing techniques, while making his verses more substantial. He has been inspired by many artists such as Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore, Kirk Franklin, LeCrae and Big K.R.I.T.
