Mikael Aguilar / Bio

The idea of writing a "bio" seemed a little well... self- absorbed. Fact is, I am not much different than most people in that I work a day job, I watch more TV than I probably should and I love a good glass of cognac every now and again (well... perhaps not like most people).

I do, however, feel most fortunate to be able to express the impact these seemingly ordinary and many other experiences have had on my life and the lives of those close to me. I love music because most days I need to hear someone say they know how I feel and that I am not alone. Sharing with others how I feel is a way to connect, to be united by our similarities.

There is something to be said about the depth of the connection we can have with an artist and the impact the blood, sweat, and tears invested in the craft can have on us. I need that. I honestly would not be a complete human being were it not for this.

I don't know if anything I write will ever touch someone the way others' art has touched me, but if I'm thankful to have this opportunity to share these songs with you. I'm thankful for the connections formed, the stories shared, and the lives I have been blessed to be a part of through music

Whatever brought you to this page, I am glad you found it. I am blessed by you, whether you know it or not..

I thank you for giving this music - that which is a living and evolving force that has been a joy and, at times, a curse - a listen. I hope that the words, music, emotions, and grooves within will serve as a medium for you and I to connect...even if only for a brief moment. May you be blessed. - Mikael Aguilar
