Lynne Watson is an all inclusive music enthusiast. A graduate of the famous Music and Art High School in New York City, she has continued to hone her music skills and experiences through a diverse range of activities. Studying with renowned Choral Director and Maestro John L. Motley, Lynne was a long time member of the All-City High School Chorus and Concert Choir - performing in numerous venues and for various showcases. Her performances and collaborations include many varied and different New York locales; at the Inaugural Celebration for former Governor Cuomo; with Opera Ebony- an African American Opera performance company; at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center; during the Centennial Celebration of the Brooklyn Bridge; front and center for the Re-dedication Ceremony of the Statue of Liberty; at Symphony Space; Carnegie Hall and even at the New York City Mayoral home Gracie Mansion.
As a member of the only African American Drum and Bugle Corps on the East Coast – the Warriors Drum and Bugle Corps– in the 1980’s, she toured and performed in numerous competitions. Lynne has also performed in Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival on the only musical instrument invented in the 20th Century - the Steel Pan. Additionally as a vocal artist, she has shared the stage with such greats as Jazz/Blues pianist Valerie Capers, the late Dizzy Gillespie and Phyllis Hyman, entertained in the Bahamas at the Crystal Palace. and has done marketing radio spots for business school training for the Board of Education.
As the founder of the R&B/Soul, Funk and Pop Band ‘Positive N-ergy’, Lynne has jump started her love of live band music. In addition to private parties and corporate events, she has performed numerous times at the world renown Ashford and Simpson's SUGAR BAR in new York City, along with many other venues in the Tri State Area such as Resorts World Casino, The Red Lion, Groove NYC, Connolly's Klub 45, Dinosaur BBQ NYC/Stamford and KJ Farrell's, Port Jazz and Bobbique to name a few. She has held successful fund raising showcases for VH1 Save the Music Foundation and the Japan Society for Earthquake Relief in Japan. Additionally, she has produced and performed with her band in a Live performance on the steps of the landmark James A Farley Main Post Office in the heart of New York City on 33rd Street and 8th Avenue for the annual Make Music New York Festival.
Live music is and will always be a major force in her life, and with the creation of RSL Entertainment, not only has she been able to continue her love of performance, she has been able to work with other bands and musicians to bring quality live music to the listening public. Not only dealing with R&B/Soul and Funk, but branching out to more genres such as Rock and Gospel too! Music all around! 'Positive N-ergy' performs at all types of live events, and is also available for private/corporate shows and parties! So let us know when you wanna jam!
