Eveline Kay / Bio

Eveline Kay, a recording artist, performer, and songwriter from her experiences she strives to be a role model to share her views for happiness, love and honesty.

Growing up wasn’t easy for Eveline, as she was a child of a military family, lived all over Canada and a few years in the states. “Life was very solitary growing up. My father never home but strict rules whenever he was around so most of my social time was in school.” School life for Eveline wasn’t like most children she attended ten different schools, seven different postings and stayed in touch only with a few people.

"Two years ago, I was a university student studying to get into Dental school to follow my father’s footsteps. Family means a lot to me and I wanted to please everyone without looking at my own happiness. Family life deteriorated within December of 2010, my parents divorced. I moved west to help support my mom and later my sister, worked three jobs in order to keep my now smaller family a float. Life is a journey and how I have defined myself is the situations that I have been through; with going to University, I did well in the three years that I attended for physics, chemistry and psychology but heart was not into the end result.

What shapes peoples path is relationships they are currently in, which now there is no dissonance, I am well grounded with a supportive group of people that envision the same dream as I do; My mother, sister, pets and current long-term boyfriend. When you conquer something huge, you want to share it to the world. I dug myself out of the trenches of doubt and self pity to realize there is always going to be people that hate you, don't believe in you. Guess what? You’re with yourself for the rest of your life so time to wake up and be friends with that person (you). My aim with this career is give inspiration to everyone and to help them gain confidence that they can achieve everything their heart desires and to be happy.

Skills that I have acquired through my life include; completed a five song original debut album that should be release in February along with the music video. I have grade eight RCM piano, and grade two musical theory, currently playing a little hippy guitar. I have my scuba diving licence, bronze four sailing, completed high school, worked in professional buildings, taught piano, experience running a business, play soccer, swim, and recently attempting the relaxation of Bikram yoga. Every challenge that I set my goals on I strive nothing more than to complete and also excel."

The songs and their meanings-->

Sugar Rush- Written to empower women; Out of all my acclaimed wild or colourful emotions that I am just in search for someone to love me.

Through it all- Originally written for my mother, but then generalized it for more people to connect with. " Really I doubt it ," was placed in to connect with all the negative feedback that we do receive when we are in love but hopefully you will choose to continue the happy feelings.

Last Goodbye- I am an army brat, used to leaving many places after making friends and getting comfortable. Generally the tune is written about a leaf leaving a tree from birth to death, from a scared little bud that blumes green to changing colors and expressing its most beautiful colours when it leaves, and hopefully that tree doesn’t cry when its gone.

Starlight- inspired to help the world and wish for happiness. Peace and harmony, Taylor a family friend over Christmas was diagnosed with cancer and I wish upon a star that a band-aid could cover all the hurt.

Raw- actually my first song recorded, I was in an angry state and searching for truth in the world, little meaning speak truthfully and you can find the truth in the world.
