Reggae is a universally appreciated form of music that reaches an incredibly diverse audience. Coming strong with rough and tough reggae vibes, Born in Babylon creates powerful music with lyrics that inspire love, positivity, and raise political awareness. Since the origination of the group, Born in Babylon has shared a stage with many other widely respected reggae acts including Josh Heinrichs, Skillinjah, Natural Vibrations, 77 Jefferson, Arm the Poor, The Jah Kings, The Jah Lion band, and many more. BIB expresses their musical messages in an effort to create a peaceful, sustainable, and free world for audiences today and generations to follow. Zack “Mufasa” Newton is the singer-song writer behind the music of the Midwest Reggae group, while the Born in Babylon band is composed of some of the most talented musicians Kansas City has to offer including Eddie Moore, Dominique Sanders, Rick Cole, Brett Jackson, and Evan Hoffman. BIB busted into the Midwest reggae seen with their first hazy performance in Westport on 4/20/2012. The reggae hard-hitters hail from all over the country (California, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana), and have come together in this Kansas City based reggae group to share their passion for music performance. Born in Babylon released their first single, “Farmer” in early 2013 and is currently back in the studio at the UMKC Conservatory recording their first album. Look for the Born in Babylon album to drop summer/fall of 2013!
