Originally formed as impromptu jam sessions between members of a few regular Albuquerque / Santa Fe bands, Snake Oil Spill's first performance was on the Albuquerque scene mid 2012. Their unique sound combines elements of jam, southern rock and blues.
Prior to the recent formation of the band, bassist Dan Wenz and singer / guitarist Jesse Korman were well known locally opening for acts such as Nebula, Radio Moscow, Devon Allman’s Honeytribe and Agent Orange and performed regularly at Hard Rock Pavillion VIP after parties for acts that included Alice in Chains, Motley Crue and Jane's Addiction. Drummer Jesse Blankenship's tenure with bands including Smilin Liar, Ghosts of the Great Lakes and Sound the Silent allowed him to share the stage with such acts as Papa Roach, Saliva, Medina Lake, Dead Poetic, 36 Crazy fists, Dope, Powerman 5000, Project 86, Blindside, Flyleaf, Trust Company and many more.
Snake Oil Spill's self title debut album was officially released on Dec. 21st, 2013.
