In the fall of 2006, Tom McMahon (bass guitar) and Dave Blenis (guitar) left Tripsonic to form a new band to better explore their common musical interests. Dave recruited his longtime friend, guitarist Mike Boor to join the band and after an extensive search, Ashley Boehlke joined as the voice of the band. With drummer Greg Scott, the band recorded an EP and played numerous venues in the Albany, NY area as Frakture. In 2011, Damon Adams joined the band on drums and they performed briefly as Kolekora. In 2012, Denise Bower joined the band as their singer and the band was renamed SafeWord. The band recorded a new EP and continues to play numerous venues in the Albany, NY area. Caryn Luna joined SafeWord in 2013 as lead vocalist after Bower left for personal reasons. The band continues to write and perform powerful, catchy rock songs with an intriguing laid back intensity.
