Beatriz / Bio

Born and raised in El Paso, native Texan Beatriz started her career at the age of 15. At this young age, Beatriz made a decision to search for a future in the music business. It has been said that great things take time but truly extraordinary things happen all at once.

Her Mexican-American roots, nevertheless, are her source of pride and the solid foundation for her life and her music. This talented young lady leaped into the public’s consciousness in 1995 as one of the performers at a tribute to Selena.

Beatriz has the drive and confidence to pursue and follow her dreams; She has spent her life following the musical dream learning to write and perform her own music which has been influenced by artists such as Luis Silva, Rudy Perez, A.B. Quintanilla III, Alfredo Jimenez to name a few.

Performing for thousands in the El Paso County Coliseum, Beatriz earned immediate affection from the audience with a voice both tender and soaring. The sound of her voice attracted many offers to sing at parties, weddings, quincineras, and festivals throughout Texas, New Mexico, and California. She has since become a favorite at private parties and annual events. Beatriz was featured in various magazines and newspapers, such as Tejano Times newspaper VIP of the month, Low-rider Magazine and several event ads throughout state of Texas.

Beatriz has performed for nation-wide audiences in events that include but not limited to the Tejano Music Awards, TTMA Fan Fair, The Great American Duck Race, State Fairs, Marfa Lights Festival, Church Festivals, Fundraisers, scores of private parties and much more. A true entertainer at heart, she involved herself in dance and earned the position of a dance instructor of Country and Salsa music. At the young age of 16, Beatriz was named “El Paso’s Rising Star” by the city of El Paso. Beatriz earned the respect of public earning her the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at various events including one for Congressman Silvestre Reyes.

Beatriz has gained notoriety and has opened for great Tejano legends such as Sunny Ozuna, Carlos Miranda, Agustin Ramirez and more. She has had the opportunity to sing live with many big name artists such as Selena, Stefani Montiel, Jennifer Pena, Patsy Torres, Shelly Lares, La Onda, Emilio, Texas Latino, Stampede, Eddie Gonzalez, Los Tigrillos, and Dinora. Beatriz has expanded her vocals in a wide variety of music including Tejano, Cumbia, Salsa, Norteno, duranguense, Country and Mariachi. Music being her first love, Beatriz has the strive and confidence to pursue and follow her dreams She has a loyal following of those who share her dream hoping of one day to see her name in lights.

In winter of 2009, Beatriz began working on a Spanish Language album to break into the music stream. Her debut album, “Muevelo” is composed of a variety mixture of intimate rythmatic cumbias with a creative control of Latin rhythms. Recording Muevelo has brought Beatriz full circle as a performer. The first two singles “Muevelo” and “Vete De Aqui” both written by Beatriz, include a little bit of Tejano, hip-hop, and cumbia beats which all drew success and airplay throughout various Radio stations. The long awaited release of “Muevelo” is planned for early 2013.

Beatriz is continuously exercising her voice by performing at various festivals, benefits, and events such as for Music for our Wounded Warriors, functions for Cinco De Mayo and Diez y Seis De Septiembre to name a few.

For Beatriz, it signified a coming of age in the creative control that she has as she scudded her influence and the artistic muscle in a more proactive and confident manner. Beatriz hopes to accomplish great milestones in her career as many artists have done and then some. She writes poetry, which then inspires her to write her own music. Influenced by her love of Tejano, Salsa, Latin Pop, Conjunto and Grupero Music; Beatriz dreams of making her future singing the music that touches her soul. In her own words, she describes it best “My goal is to share my music with the world, I want my name to be remembered from the contribution I made in the music industry”.

This walking contradiction of a girl astounds us all. Down to earth, low maintenance yet harboring the voice of a diva, slight in stature, yet larger than life, full of youth vibrance with old school charm, grace and sophistication, Beatriz is ready to make the world feel the weight of her next step. Undoubtedly, Beatriz has the passion and love for music t become a great star. She is also one of the most prolific and promising young performers of today that hopes to inspire children, teenagers, and adults to pursue their dreams and goals in life. Even through Beatriz has a busy scheduled, she has been able to juggle bother her career and her family. With her family and friends by her side, Beatriz believes she can achieve all her goals.
