REV, an Alt Rock Trio from Upstate NY, is AL KRYSZAK (gtrs/keys/vocals), ROB MAZURKIEWICZ (bass/vocals) and MIKE BRYDALSKI . Al Kryszak: released a solo album of guitar-based songs: “Lullabies For People Who Don’t Need Sleep” on iTunes: OCTOBER 31, 2013. Steel string, classical & baritone guitars; banjo and fretless bass round out the string landscape, supporting the moody musings and angry outbursts of "Lullabies...".
REV's iTunes releases include "Nothing To See Here", "Nothing But Hearsay", 2011's double-CD: "L.E. The Liz Estrada Book Club", and 2012's "The Restless Are Natives". Performing at The Tralf, Club Infinity, Burchfield-Penney Gallery and The Hard Rock Cafe in Niagara Falls, NY, the band also performed on the 2013 WinTour Festival and "Loud Guys Against Violence Against Women II" in 2013.
"Lullabies..." includes solo guitar-based songs like “Walks in Beauty” which appears in instrumental form in Kryszak’s Broken Blossoms silent film score on Turner Classic Movies. Overdriven Hammond organ growls underneath “Shadow of the Coal Plant”, about the Tonawanda Coke operation found to have filled the air with benzine for decades. “Floaters” and “White-Collared Me” occupy the furthest ends of the spectrum, from soft classical and mellotron shades to baritone guitar hard funk.
Kryszak, is a composer/guitarist with 25 years of concert, silent film and theatre work, HIs concert works includes ALL THE LUCK (Clarinet and Orchestra), Piano Concerto (DR. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde silent score from Lincoln Center / Turner Classic Movies), and BROKEN BLOSSOMS, Turner Classic Movies score for piano, cello, guitar and orchestra.
Rob Mazurkiewicz: "Playing music with Mike and Alan in Rev has really challenged the innate based playing that he developed as a self taught musician. Some people play out of the box, but I don't believe these guys ever saw a box when it comes to music." Rob enjoys wide variety music and loves live performance.
Mike Brydalski : has been a production and performing fixture on the Western New York new music scene for 3 decades. He performed with The Good briefly before Bernie Kugel had the lineup heard on the the BCMK recordings. He joined REV for their second CD: "Nothing But Heresay", and continues with the new CD: "L.E."
