Centrifuge began in the most simplistic form. It was a concept that spiraled into reality. Without realizing it, this father and son team grew their fan base, grew their library and grew their visibility where they finally recognized what they had.
Their first creation was the CD “Lucky Soul” which gives homage to those who have been able to find that special someone in their lives. The single, “One of Those Things” is about the moments in life that happen in an instant that you have no control over and ultimately change the pace of your life, sometimes forever. This song’s storyline revolves around a ‘what if’ I would have met so-and-so at a different time, what would it have been like.
“One of Those Things” is smooth, sexy, jazzy, with a cool funk undertone. It has a great melody and very catchy rhythm. Vocals are sultry which fits this arrangement perfectly. This song is very radio friendly, relatable and just a great all around swag to it. Its vibe, mood and the real smooth harmonies mixed with this mid tempo pulse designed to delight audiences everywhere. This song sets the tone for the entire CD, which carries an R & B overtone with plenty of jazz mixed in.
“My partner is my son who is fifteen and already a pretty accomplished pianist, primarily studying jazz piano at school, privately and as a member of the Philadelphia Kimmel Center Youth Jazz Ensemble. Talented Steve Tirpack (John Legend MD) and bassist Anthony Tidd lead the Ensemble. He has shown a strong song-writing ability as well as the second and third song on the CD, “Layin Low” and “Walk Away” were primarily his creations that I just brought to full circle so to speak. I think these are two of the strongest 3 songs on the CD. “
