Award-winning Seattle band Diamondwolf is two long-time locals in harmony. Alicia Dara has been a member of the Seattle music community for 15 years, released 5 solo records and fronts indie rock band The Volcano Diary. Glen Cooper is a local musician and improv actor. They met 13 years ago and reconnected in 2012. An EP of 2 originals and three covers was released in 2013. The CD release at the Crocodile for their first EP sold out, and they got a reputation for red-hot acoustic shows with skilled close-harmony singing that evokes The Civil Wars The Head and The Heart, and Band of Horses.
Diamondwolf has won awards for their songs, one for the haunting ballad "Swansong" and another for the rousing anthem "Cool Blue Fire" (see band website for details). Both songs appear on their debut full-length CD "Your Time Has Come" released on March 25th 2015 and available now on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.
Both Alicia and Glen are multi-instrumental, and they played most of the tracks on their upcoming CD, with Alicia on drums and slide guitar, and Glen on bass and electric guitar. The signature Diamondwolf sound is the interplay between two acoustic guitars: Glen plays a regular 6-string acoustic, and Alicia's has Nashville strings, which fills out their sound and creates unique chord voicings. Their record was recorded in an open room on Vashon Island, inside a "forest of microphones" that captured crystal-clear live takes of their voices and guitars. Overdubs were added afterward, including Alicia on drums and Glen on bass, with co-producer Jason Staczek adding piano and Hammond B3 organ. Additional tracks were recorded and co-produced with Moe Provencher, and with Justin Froese in the cavernous Fremont Abbey.
In 2014 Diamondwolf also recorded a brand-new EP of covers, including songs by Queens of the Stone Age, Neil Young, Goldfrapp and Tom Waits, to give to fans that contribute to the band's upcoming Kickstarter campaign.

Diamondwolf is two Seattle musicians’ karmic destiny. Alicia Dara (The Volcano Diary) and Glen Cooper first met in 2001 on the singer-songwriter circuit. They parted ways but never lost touch. Ten years later they reconnected and noticed how well their voices worked together. Suddenly Diamondwolf was born.
The Diamondwolf sound is sexy, strummy, dark and dreamy. They are sometimes compared to fellow Seattle bands Jesse Skyes and the Sweet Hereafter, and The Head and The Heart. They’ve also been called “Cocteau Twins meets Gutter Twins”, because of their skillful and haunting close-harmony singing. Both Alicia and Glen are multi-instrumental and play different instruments, but the core of the band’s live sounds is two voices and two guitars. Diamondwolf songs are passionate, haunting, melodic. They are full of images from nature that evoke the stunning, raw beauty of the Pacific Northwest. A particular fan favorite is their original single “Cool Blue Fire”, released in 2012. They are also known for their cover of “The Messenger” by Daniel Lanois, and “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak.
