Music flowing through his veins, it is impossible to box singer/songwriter/entertainer Renegade into just one musical genre. His fusion of Hip Hop, R&B, and Pop blends smoothly to create a unique sound that transcends diverse audiences and warrants the name: RENEGADE.
Born Orrin Portwood, Renegade hails from Stone Mountain, GA and currently resides in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. The spark of music was evident in him at a very young age when his mother would hear him making up songs as she pushed him in the grocery store cart. He was constantly involved with music, singing in the school choir, Voices of Faith Baptist Church and at local talent shows where he often channeled his musical idols Steve Wonder, Michael Jackson & R. Kelly.
Renegade’s phenomenal singing/songwriting talents have opened up many doors for him allowing him the opportunity to collaborate with many industry heavy weights including producers JonJon Trax, Black Elvis, Eric Hudson, song writers Redd Styles and Emiles and he has written songs for songstress KeKe Wyatt. In addition, he has worked closely with Troy Taylor who is the CEO of Songbook Entertainment, the current recording label of Trey Songz.
Renegade’s march toward superstardom has been extraordinary, producing growth as an artist as well as personal growth. Each step he takes is another step toward reaching his dream of becoming the next great musical icon. While his sexually evocative hit single “Come on the Bed” continues to wow fans and the industry alike, Renegade is preparing for the release of his ground breaking EP, The Arrival. When asked what overall message he wants people to take away from his music, he stated that: “There is no creative limit to music, I just want to give people the gift of spontaneous, timeless music”.
