Chinook formed in Toronto in the summer of 2012 and consists of two members: Zo Rane and Shannon Doherty. Zo Rane is a guitar guru and self-taught producer/sound engineer who has recorded various demos in numerous basements and alcove’s alike. Zo’s counterpart, Shannon Doherty, has been singing and writing most of her life - a passion that illuminates itself through the vocals and lyrics of Chinook.
Much like the northern Canadian winds the band is named after, Chinook’s music aims to bring a fresh, warm surge to the Toronto music scene. Chinook transcends multiple musical genres, creating songs that resemble a variety of styles from alternative rock, pop to blues. Chinook’s sound meshes its own artistic and innovative groove, while embracing influence from various artists from all different types of music.
Recorded in a basement studio over the course of a year, Chinook is set to release their first self-titled album this coming summer. Their first single will be the track called “Open” which will also be the band’s first music video. For more information on the band please visit:
