theFIVE6's much anticipated album, Last Minute Reservations, marks an exciting, new beginning for the band. Rooted in western Pennsylvania, theFIVE6 was born from the collaborative efforts of vocalist, Cathleen Ireland (formerly of Friday’s Child) and Pittsburgh guitar veteran, Jim “Giacomo” Held (also known as "G"). Primarily an acoustic duo for the past year, they recently added band mates Al Peden (Dr. Zoot) on bass and the beats and rhythms of percussionist, Jay Constable (Brownie Mary).
theFIVE6's genre is best described as a unique blend of acoustic pop that integrates, folk, blues and country, with adaptive melodies from past influences. Cathleen's crystal clear and balanced vocals allow the audience to take a journey with her on each song. Part of what makes theFIVE6 unique is their dedication to write and perform original songs, layered with varying guitar styles, resulting in resonating melodies that you'll want to listen to over and over.
There’s such a great feeling in the band right now. theFIVE6 is very excited to get the new album out to the fans who have been so supportive of them over the years and who have been patiently waiting for this new album. theFIVE6 is eager to continue performing and recording all original sets, bringing dynamic melodies that will continue to engage their audience.
And that's the low-down on theFIVE6.
