Highpoint is a highly charged Arlington, Texas band formed in 1998. Guitarists Tim Bottoms, Jesse Guess, and vocalist Ryan Brannan grew up within a few miles of each other. They met after high school and started playing at Tim's "party house" on High Point Lane for friends and family. Their influences range from Metallica to Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Alice in Chains to The Gap Band.
Their musical backgrounds are different but their commitment to music is the same. Highpoint found their sound to be a moody mix of metal, blues, rock and soul. After success playing locally in DFW clubs, they released their first album, Storyteller, which was locally produced and became high demand. With the addition of long-time friend, musician, and producer Josh Woodward on bass guitar, Highpoint began to take off.
Highpoint began touring nationally, sharing the stage with bands such as Nickelback, Incubus, and Eyes Adrift (with members of Nirvana, and Sublime). It was during this time, Highpoint produced their second album, Pop Cure. The song “Sink to Swim” was featured as the theme song for the Sportsman Channel’s, Hooked on Adventure.
After taking a few years off, Highpoint joined back together to write and record their third album, appropriately titled, “Lazarus”. The newest member to the Highpoint family, the phenomenal Raymond Chambers, brings the Highpoint sound to a whole new level with his powerhouse drumming. Highpoint continues to write, record, and perform music about life, loss, pain, and pleasure. "I guess, to be the best, you never slow down you never rest".
