Steve, (lead guitar and vocalist) has been a musician for about 45 years. As a teenager he played in high school sock hops with what we call oldies (current top charts back then). He moved to Florida and played Disney World for about two years. He has played in multiple bands over the years. He started the Wild Card Band in 1990 as a trio playing local Florida clubs. When he moved to New Mexico, he switched to bass guitar and played with a band called Cadillac Kings. Steve is a huge Willie Nelson fan and does a pretty good rendition. Looking for a specific sound, he put together the new Wild Card band. Vocal harmony that included a female voice is that sound he was looking for. The new Wild Card band certainly has that sound.
DJ, (bass guitar and vocalist) has been a musician about 35 years. She started out as a drummer in high school, but switched to bass shortly thereafter. In her early years she played Bluegrass with Yellow River Bluegrass and Home Grown Bluegrass bands. She then joined a band called Southern Comfort and played southern rock. DJ Plays and sings Country, Oldies, and Southern Rock and provides pretty harmony to make these old “bar boys” sound good. This “Rose Between Two Thorns” has added a very positive dimension to the Wild Card band. Singing lead vocals and harmony, her voice is clearly the blend that Wild Card needed.
Doug, (steel, banjo and vocalist) has been a musician for about 40 years. He has played banjo since he was about 10 years old. He has played and has sung traveling the US and overseas. Doug sings a Merle Haggard song as country as Merle does. His steel guitar sounds on a slow country song send chills down your spine, then he will get your toe tapping and foot stomping with a banjo tune. Doug and Steve started the Wild Card band as a duo, playing together for about a year until Doug worked out west, Upon his return, they reunited and began to put together new sound for Wild Card
