A singer and musician for many years, Tom has played venues all across the country in various groups and as a solo artist. Even though he grew up around songwriters, especially his Father who was a prolific songwriter throughout his life it wasn't until the early nineties that Tom decided to try his hand at songwriting. Not satisfied with his first efforts, he began to study in earnest, joining the Oklahoma City based Oklahoma Songwriters and Composers Association. Through that organization and others he attended classes, seminars and workshops put on by the likes of Craig White, of the well known music, recording and songwriting programs at Rose State College as well as his White Rose Recording studio. Also John Braheny of the L.A. Songwriters Association and published author of an important book on songwriting. Workshops put on using materials published by various authors and instructors associated with the Berklee School of music such as Pat Pattison, and music industry giants such as Jim Halsey. Tom has since participated in song swaps and songwriter showcases with many diverse songwriters, including published songwriters such as Paul Maloy, David Henson and former Oklahoma Poet Laureate Nathan Brown. His songwriting is still a work in progress, but he's much more satisfied with the product nowadays!
