The International Polka Band / Bio

The International Polka Band (exciting and versatile music: fun to dance and sing-along.)

IPB can be heard most often during the winter holidays especially at field festivals such as the Oktoberfest. IPB strives to preserve the musical heritage of Eastern Europe in new versatile, creative and exciting ways. IPB is probably the only original Polka band that can also play Jazz, Latin, Caribbean and Ethnic music. The IPB musicians come from Poland, Hungary and Spain with music arranged by Les Blachut featuring virtuosity of the lead trumpet player Zoltan Grof and the mesmerizing gypsy guitar of Gyorgy Lakatos.

The band sounds great as a small group but if a need arises it can be extended to a full orchestra including a choreographed dance ensemble. The band's instrumentation consists of: keyboards, vibraphone, guitar, cimbalom, trumpet, bass, drums, violin, accordion, flute, clarinet, saxophone, tuba, and various percussion instruments.

Additionally for special occasions the group members invite their Polka-dancing girlfriends. They will make your party sing along and your beer will taste better.
