DARKSOUND was born 12 years ago in Badajoz, mixing different musical genres as stoner and progressive metal of bands such as Kyuss or Tool with the Alternative Rock of the 90's such as Soundgarden and Alice in Chains, with big influences of the Old and New Metal: from Anthrax to Deftones also Pantera and Machine Head.

The band started as a power trio but, after they published their first EP; Pedro Wichard and Javi Caldito joined the band as vocalist and guitarist. Togehter with Jesús del Castillo, drummer, David López Mahony, bassist, and Ricardo Larios, guitar and voices. They begin their musical career playing throughout Spain, recording 2 LPs awarded with the best reviews of the Musical Press. They represented Spain in London in the Global Battle of Bands in 2008.

In 2001 they recorded Midnight Sun Ep at Cube Studios in Madrid, with Alberto Seara
as sound engineer and producer; and Carlos Escobedo (Sôber frontman) featuring one track.

In 2003 they recorded at Cube Studios their first LP, Irresponsible Optimism. Published by the Independent Record Label Lengua Armada, this LP is called by the Musical Press as the best national rock-metal debut of the last 20 years, appearing in numerous magazines. Darksound began their first national tour together with Sou Edipo and Elektra (El Relevo Tour) in different venues of Spain, such as El Sol in Madrid or KGB in Barcelona.
