Bloom started in McPherson Kansas as the duo Littleham Perdition in 2008 with Jake Little on rhythm guitar and Matthew Hammond on vocals. Soon after, bassist Caleb Anson was added to form Don't Cry Kelley. Corey Peterson was then added as lead guitar. A couple small gigs were performed with the four. The group practiced in churches, empty houses, garages and living rooms, focusing on a mellow acoustic sound. In late 2010 the group drafted drummer Cody Romaine straight out of high school. The following months offered a drastic sound change and also several name changes including, Bangin' Angels, Vinyl, and settling, finally, on Bloom. The group moved to Lawrence Kansas for the more diverse and inviting music scene, offering a more electric driven mid-western rock and roll sound. The songs are written by all members of the band, sometimes independently, in duos, or as a whole group. Bloom have recorded two independent EP's, the most recent in the spring of 2013. Bloom delivers a high energy live performance with their catchy riffs and melodies.
