Jam, a Boston native, is a young inspiring hip-hop artist who is trying to make a name for himself in the music industry. His love for music developed as a young boy while growing up at his grandmother’s house. "My grandmother listened to all types of music: Gospel, Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop & R&B, everything". With all those genres in one house, Jam grew to appreciate a wide variety of music.
He has always really enjoyed hip-hop and the whole rap culture. "I've always loved how rappers would put words together on a beat and make it sound cool. They always had the dopest clothes too". While studying the game and technique of his favorite rappers, Jam started to write his own raps at the age of 13. "When I first started, I thought it was cool until I heard myself for the first time; it sounded whack”. Jam started taking his music more seriously in 2010. “I want people to know me as a lyricist more than anything. I want them to say yeah! Jam got bars!” With his laid back demeanor, and strong witty lines, Jam is a good switch up for the music industry. Rather than spitting a whole bunch of nonsense, Jam works hard to paint a picture of his life and the social issues he sees around him; the struggle it can often be as a young black male in this society.
