New York City-based Flying Points are set to take the stage with its unique sound that fuses the perfect mix of rock, pop, indie, and dance. After gaining local notoriety with such well-received hits as "The Process" and "Being Nice", the quartet has decided to expand its brand and broaden its fan base. Armed with both new music and a captivating live show, the band is looking forward to taking it to the next level.
When buddies Dave Bradley (guitar) and Jonathan Julian (drums), set out to recruit those who shared their same musical vision, they quickly teamed up with Barnes Benson (vocals), whose vocals and stage presence helped solidify the groups sound. A long, grueling search for a bassist ended when they found Kellie McCormick (bass), who not only brought her unique style to the band, but also a much-needed feminine touch.
Citing a wide variety of influences, from The Bee Gee's to Metallica, the foursome has achieved success with radio airplay in New York City, New Jersey, London, and Canada. While the band would rather talk about their haunted rehearsal space, the overwhelming positive reception to their music and live show has been undeniable. Listener reviews have ranged from "peppy and upbeat, with strong vocals and a clean sound" to "catchy melodies with a surprisingly intricate arrangement."
The band traces its performing roots to famous downtown NYC landmarks such as Arlene's Grocery and Knitting Factory. It is there that they cultivated their unique show style, working tirelessly to become the next critical success to emerge from the NYC scene. With new music on the way, they are destined to do just that. Download Flying Points on iTunes.
