Jalopy / Bio

Deep funk, soul- and acid-jazz jamband

Jalopy is a tribute to the deep funk, soul- and acid-jazz movement of the 60s & 70s including New Orleans funk. Grant Green, Jimmy Smith and Jimmy McGriff, "Boogaloo" Joe Jones and the Meters are credited as early influences. Jalopy is also inspired also by the more recent renaissance and jamband fusion of this music by contemporary acts such as the New Mastersounds, the Greyboy Allstars, Orgone, and Galactic. Jalopy keeps it alive—see them soon for a funky good time.
