singer-songwriter from Belgium, playing and writing from the heart since 2004. Jules Brown since 2009.
With two big sisters in the house and parents that forced me to listen to alternative music, I quickly got into music and grew a passion for melodic sounds and angelic voices. I could hear the music playing loudly in my sister's room every saturday morning. I used to steal her cd's, or listen to the radio in my room while waiting for that one song to pop up so I could record it on a cassette and listen to it every night before I fell asleep.
Writing is something that grew on me. My dad used to tell me bedtime stories that he made up, and every evening he continued the same story about gnomes and fairies. It inspired me to believe in the power of imagination, of course I didn't know that back then. I got my own notebook when I 8 and a beautiful pen to write down my OWN made up stories. I wrote and I wrote, and I never stopped.
With the music pumping in my brains and the notebook on my desk, I slowly started to connect the dots. I found my mom & dad's guitars and I still remember, trying to imitate wonderwall on a guitar with only 3 strings, I didn't even know any chords but I could hear it in my head. I had my own imagination.
Finally I got my own guitar, and learned how to play it decently. Of course I learned how to play Wonderwall, like everybody probably does.
I wrote my first songs, created my own lyrics.
And here I am now, guessing it's been almost 10 years, and I'm never gonna stop.
It's in my blood. The songs are somewhere in my brain, heart, veins.
I am Jules Brown.
