When a band finds its name from a Steve Earle quote, arguably one of the greatest country rock writers, you know they are setting their sights high.
While they may be young, Brisbane pop country quartet We the Ghosts are already making waves for themselves. As the winners of the Battle of the bands at the 2011 Gympie Music Muster their dreams of making a name for themselves in Australia and overseas are well underway.
The band was originally started by John Cesar, vocals, and Alex Tomlins, guitars, but soon they roped Alex's twin little brothers in to jump on bass, Nick and drums, Jake. They put together a demo in 2011, and soon after released their first single 'Take It All Back' which went straight into rotation and reached number 3 on the All Australian Top 20 Country charts on 98.9fm.
With the upcoming release of their new single 'Little Bit Crazy' and being invited to play in Nashville, USA at the 2012 Country Music Awards International party We the Ghosts are making serious progress for Australian country music. The single is a perfect amalgam of rock ballad with a country twist. It will keep the country fans happy but will invite a whole new audience into their pop country world.
"I was listening to the radio the other morning and I caught a young band talking called "We The Ghosts". They then played their new single, I loved it! It's so good to hear something fresh with some depth that made me want to hear more. I'm looking forward to the whole record" - Troy Cassar Daley
