Birth Name: Qu’Sean A. Chamberlain
Nicknames: PubliK Zero, DJ Sub-Zero
Qu’sean Chamberlain, a.k.a. PubliK, was born in Bronx, NY, June 28th. He was raised in the Marble Hill Projects with music in his genes. His mother is a gifted vocalist. Publik earned his street-wise persona from growing up in the hood. But at the age of 14, he realized he needed a breath of fresh air. Publik moved to Kansas City in search of a better environment for himself. Once he arrived, he settled right in. He had a taste of the suburban life in the mid 90’s when he attended Park Hill High School. School wasn't so pleasent in the suburbs. Publik found him self out of place within the suburbs where racism was at an all-time high. The school made news for racism numerous times during his years of attendance.
PubliK then started to hangout in the inner-city neighborhoods of Kansas City. Kansas City was ranked 4th in homicides within the United States at the time he roamed the streets. During this time, while Publik was in the inner-city of Kansas, he banded together with a group of people and they later formed a music click called, "Ces Cru."
Ces Cru is currently signed to the #1 independent record label in the United States called, Strange Music Inc. Ubiquitous and Godemis are the current faces of Ces Cru. The remaining members branched out & started to work on their own projects.
Publik graduated from high school and moved back to NYC. At the age of 18, he was back in the Marble Hill Projects analyzing life. Nothing had changed. He observed his people while they pumped drugs and killed each other all over the NYC area. Publik tried to stay away from the typical project life. He then started to look for positive things to do and Dee-Jaying became his outlet.
After meeting several entertainment groups on the come up, he started to dj at major clubs for SB Entertainment. He Dee-Jayed at clubs like Speed, Palladium, American Park Café Battery Park, Planet 28 and the list goes on. Publik got to open for alot of Hot 97.1FM dj's like: Mister Cee, Coco Chanelle, DJ Enuff and Funk Master Flex. Publik’s dj name was Sub-Zero. His cuts are were serious on the turntables. He then grew out of the dj life and started producing beats and engineering. He worked in a studios all over the NYC, but as time went on, he began to lose his love for the studio life. Every rapper sounded the same on the mic. He knew there had to be more to rap and hip-hop than what he was hearing.
Still trying to evade the hood- life, Publik began a new journey into the work force and started working for an Internet company called Communityconnect.com. They are the soul owners of Blackplanet.com and Migente.com. Publik learned the business of advertisement and marketing in 6 years of employment with Communityconnect.com. He then saw how major cooperations used the minority market to unconsciously pollute and gain money with no real give backs to the community. He realized “life is a game” and “we are being played to the max”. He saw the mic as the key to waking people up and began to use that key to open people’s eyes to the lies he was fed in his life. Publik is now stepping up to the mic with a vengeance against the society we live in with Tha Konglamouirt.
The majority of the rap music of today is brainwash music for the most part in Publik’s eyes. Someone wants to keep us ignorant and out of touch with reality.
Publik is currently promoting his own website business based on Internet marketing and self-awareness promotions. The company that he is promoting is called, OLGurban.com. His company website displays informative information dealing with reality and general entertainment in our current society. You can find free mixtapes, history lessons, how- to tutorials and so much more.
Publik's website is currently promoting and working closely with Tru Kullaz and F.E.D.S. Magazine as a host/project manager/camera man/graphic designer. With these new connections Publik is on his way to the top. So listen carefully when Publik grips the mic. You don’t want to miss a word he speaks the truth society needs to hear.
