The day Marco first heard the sound of a guitar marked a turning point in his life, he identified with the instrument immediately, and has not stopped playing since. Playing music helped Marco to break through his shy disposition to meet many interesting musicians along his musical journey. He has traveled all across Brazil collaborating with many different musicians in multiple bands. He was featured in a national televised music festival with his original song titled, “Pe na Estrada”. This experience gave him insight into how much his music had the ability to touch people on many different levels.
In Brazil, he was well known for playing electric guitar in many styles ranging from Classic Rock to Brazilian music. Yet, since moving to Denver in 1995 he has found that the acoustic guitar gives him the ability to intertwine rhythm, melody, and chords without electronic effects and distortions which masquerade the innate beauty of the instrument.
Marco DiFerreira has a unique and seamless ability to combine a variety of music styles from all over the world with a Brazilian flavor
Between 1995 and 2014 he has collaborated with many different artists including a musical partnership with Paul Ewald which included a gypsy trio playing flamenco, latin, rock and jazz. He has played solo guitar in a folk rock band called Buffalo Highway. He played with Marco Ferreira (from the Monkey Bites) playing Classic rock from 1998 to 2006. In the last five years he started a project with drummer Alex Ferreira playing a fusion of Latin, jazz, rock and Brazilian music. As “The Ferreira Brothers” (Marco DiFerreira on guitar and Alex Ferreira on drums/percussion), they have played music in many venues around Denver, Castle Rock, Colorado Springs, Littleton and Boulder since 1998 and always have an excellent response from audiences and venue owners. Additionally, he has recorded professionally with many artists in Brazil and Denver. He also, has two solo CDs: Silent Journey and Gypsy Within. He is currently working on a Yoga CD.
Here is some of the of places we have played: The Great Northern Tavern, Siena/Castle Rock, Solera bar and restaurant at Cofax, Soiled Dove at Denver, Oriental Theater, Gothic Theater, Little Bear at Evergreen, Jazz at Jacks, Fourth Story/Tattered Cover at Cherry Creek, Jackson Hole, Legends and numerous parties and special events.

Music influences: Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Mark Knopfler, Pat Matheny, Paco De Lucia, Santana, The Edge, Jon Satriani… Brazilian influences: Lenine, Alceu Valenca, Ze Ramalho, Zeca Baleiro, Titas, Legiao Urbana, Armandinho e a cor do som, 14 Bis, Beto Guedes, Beto Keiser…
Electric guitar was my main instrument in Brazil and I still play it a lot, but since I moved to the USA in 1995, at that time, I started to improve my acoustic guitar playing, which brought me back to my guitar playing roots without all the effects and distortions of electric guitars, so you can’t fake the sound. What I love about acoustic guitars is that you have to play the rhythm, chords and melody all together without effects to masquerade it, which sounds more real.
I have 2 solo CDs: Silent journey and Gypsy within. Currently I am working on a third solo CD, this time with the Ferreira bros and guests…
To be continued….
