Jake Morrell / Bio

With a heady infusion of soaring vocals set against a backdrop of expressive, lively music, folk-pop extraordinaire Jake Morrell and his quartet have a unique sound that brings new meaning to the words singer-songwriter.

Hailing from the beautiful fields of East Anglia, Jake Morrell is a talented acoustic guitar player with a soulful, delicate and yet powerful voice. With ten years of writing experience under his belt and a gig history that reads like a road atlas, he has truly honed his craft and does credit to the music that inspires him. He is dedicated to his passion and continues to spread his music across the country. But he doesn’t do it alone.

Morrell is backed by a 4-piece band of the UK’s finest up and coming instrumentalists, a match that leads to a broad spectrum of compositions and well-crafted arrangements that transcend any one genre. Together they find themselves writing about a diverse range of subjects, with influences ranging from James Taylor to Dire Straits and many more. Blending unquestionable talent and expression with professionalism and energy, these gifted musicians have achieved a winning combination that delivers time and time again.

“At times the music can be a glorious lament to life, poignant and moving, soul soothing and beautiful; and at others an upbeat and joyful tribute to love lost and found...” Eleanor Goold (Freelance journalist).

Their music has been performed to thousands as Jake and the band continue to ply their trade, having shared the stage with acts such as The Hoosiers, Twin Atlantic, Professor Green and Greg James. They will be releasing their latest E.P “Homegrown” this summer showcasing a selection of their latest work..stay tuned!
