The Dallas-based group Madsen Mills produces a modern Southern Rock sound that’s filled with Classic Rock and Blues roots. Their ability to bridge the gap between old and new makes them one of the most exciting up and coming bands in the alternative scene.
The group is a three piece band comprised of Brandon Madsen on bass, Derek Mills on drums, and Graham Mills on guitar and vocals. Graham Mills started his career as a solo acoustic artist and bassist for Indie Pop group Favorite Color Green. His brother Derek entered the Dallas scene more than a decade ago as the drummer for Flourish. The two joined forces behind front man David Aaron in the band Heretic. After the project came to an end, Graham formed Stone Grey Canyon, further establishing his identity as a songwriter and blues guitarist. Meanwhile, Brandon Madsen was honing his skills as a highly distinctive bassist, playing with groups from Borger to Houston.
In June 2011 Graham Mills and Brandon Madsen found themselves as neighbors. After a few jam sessions, the two decided to begin formally playing together. Soon after, the Mills brothers were reunited as the three established Madsen Mills. The three members are excited to be launching this new band as a full time endeavor.
