The journey starts in 2001 when New Oleans natives Stephen Wildey (Guitar / Vox) Bassist Kevin Eberhardt and drummer Todd Robinson started jamming together and eventually started gigging in and around New Orleans. With sound and Energy inspired by bluess based guitar rock in the likes of ZZ Top, and Humble Pie. Roostertruck garnered a grassroots following and recorded their self titled cd in early 2003. Catching the attention of members of the New Orleans rock group Zebra the band was invited to open a couple of dates for the legendary trio (one of which took place Halloween 2004). Unbeknownst to the band or the fans it would be their last. Each band member had other endevors that they would persue and took them in different directions. Wildey relocated to the south Mississippi town of Mccomb where he met William "Doc" Haygood (drums/vox) and quickly became friends. Wildey gave Doc a copy of the Roostertruck cd to play on his radio station, and after listening to the tracks contacted Wildey about putting a new version of the band together. Jamming as a duo for a short while another Mccomb native was added to the lineup. Robert Montgomery on bass filled out the trio and took them to another level of playing and writing. A couple of rehearsals later, the band opened for Toys of Eden on April 28th 2012 and went over well. So as this saga continues Roostertruck is in writing mode and ready to get their brand of Rock and Roll out to the masses . So keep your eyes peeled for Roostertruck in your town and be ready for a breath of fresh air to rock and roll .
