From the time that she could speak it seemed that all Charissa wanted to do was sing. From her first performance in a fourth grade talent show, to singing the national anthem at world famous sporting events, and playing some of the hottest spots in Los Angeles, her power house vocals and massive stage presence blend with a soulfulness you have to hear to believe. She moved to L.A. straight out of high school, to pursue her dream. She's had many ventures, including being involved with several top-40 bands, an A Cappella group called Five Carat, backup singing for several artists including Reba McEntire, Brandy, Raven Simone, Tre Hardson, Engelbert Humperdinck, and more. Charissa can also be found recording and producing vocals, for various studios in the Los Angeles and Nashville areas. Composition began early for Charissa, as she wrote her first song at the age of ten, which she called "That Boy". Twelve years and several hundred songs later, she will have written or co-written each of the songs on her debut record, This Road, and on her latest album entitled Sun City Revival. Charissa also sings yearly for The Help Groups "Teddy Bear Ball" held in Los Angeles, which is a fundraiser to help families of children with Autism. Charissa currently resides in Nashville, TN where she is continuing to write, record, tour, create, and pursue her dreams.
