Stereo Cult is a Los Angeles-based rock n' roll band formed in 2011 by singers Archer and Harley. Archer has described the band as being influenced by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), The Pixies, and Radiohead.
Archer and musical partner Harley joined together as a passionate songwriter duo in early 2011, quickly yielding an extensive catalogue of harmony-driven songs and generating a local buzz. Wasting little time, the two began traveling the country, growing their live sound at small venues and jamming with session players. Making use of toys like a jailbroken iPad, Kaossillator, and MOOG & Korg synths, the DIY duo composed electronic bass, guitar, drum, and synth parts. The remainder of 2011 was spent in the studio recording the Last Drag EP (available NOW on iTunes).
In 2012 Stereo Cult recorded unreleased tracks with Grammy-winning producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash). The band relocated to Los Angeles in 2013 and is expected to release their forthcoming EP by the end of the year.
