Darkheart mixes 80's pop and goth music, indie rock, folk and traditional country into a beautiful mess of sonic emotion. Their diverse influences include The Civil Wars, First Aid Kit, Cocteau Twins, Heart, The Cure, Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Fleet Foxes, Tom Petty, and Antony and the Johnsons.
The songs they craft are intricate and emotionally complicated, with a refreshing and raw honesty. Featuring lush harmonies by vocalists Libby Molamphy and Diana Shomstein, and the brooding croons of B. Vogan, the voices within Darkheart are perfectly balanced by the mastery of multi-instrumentalist Kory Christian with his careful and precise arrangements.
Darkheart recently recorded their debut album “Sunshine Slowdown.” Recorded by Barrett Jones (Nirvana, Star Anna, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, John Doe) and mastered by Ed Brooks (Fleet Foxes, Death Cab for Cutie) this new work will be available in August, 2012.
