Modern Pantheist started in the summer of 2013 when singer/songwriter Chris Anderson, drummer Dave Ferrara, and mult-instrumentalist Chris Sandler began experimenting with loud noises in Dave’s drum lair in downtown Los Angeles. Those loud noises quickly turned into polished pop songs while preserving the loud noises.
"Multi-layered, psychedelic rock at it’s finest; these tracks take you on a mind-bending journey that is filled with whimsical vocals, raw guitar solos and driving bass lines." - 411 Music Group. Although the band is only a three piece, all members perform with multiple instruments live to recreate the circus of instrumentation that has come to encompass the studio recordings.
After only being together since the summer of 2013, the group has toured up the West coast, made music videos, and recorded a full length album. Their song “Lust for Hearts” won a local contest for free studio time. The band denied the offer and figured they can make own recordings sound better anyway. It’s a good thing because that studio closed shortly after. They have been getting airplay for the self released album, and local radio station KCRW’s Eric J. Lawrence described the band’s sound as a “Beck-like sense of screwball pop.” Currently they are in the studio working on an EP and setting up a cross country tour for June-July 2014.
Seamlessly blending pop sensibilities with other-worldly sounds and entrancing narratives, Modern Pantheist will take you on a journey to the center of yer mind.
