The band Dreams Weight was formed in 2012 but it's origins date back to early 1999 when three of the current band members played together under the name Somewhere In Between and briefly Dreams Weight. They had moderate success in their day selling upwards of five hundred units of their first demo. Shortly thereafter, the band lost it's original drummer Patrick Draughn to a car accident. The band was crippled but they kept going releasing another e.p. with the help of friend Jon Ashley. This lineup called themselves Meltdown Morning. They released the Patchwork EP under this name and moved a few hundred units grassroots style. The band then hit a lull for several years while members went off to college and pursued their careers. Fast forward about five years. The guys got back together and decided they wanted to play music again. So, with the help of their buddies Kendall Foucheux on the drums, Zach York on rhythm guitar and for a while Tommy Mitchell on guitar The 5 Fighting Irish were born. This band was started primarily as a cover band so they could play all the songs they loved as kids and current music that they enjoyed. The band began playing shows to crowds of over 300 people and it became evident that they were destined to do more than just be in a cover band. They began to throw in original songs in their set and soon people were requesting those over the standard bar tunes. Thus were the beginnings of Dreams Weight. Realizing that they couldn't pursue a solo career under the moniker The 5 Fighting Irish, the band decided to go back to their past and revive the name Dreams Weight because it felt like they had finally come full circle. With a newly captured spirit, the band is prepped and ready to go with a fresh but familiar sound that is sure to engage the masses. Look for their new album produced by Jamie King to hit shelves sometime in early 2013. Prepare yourselves for Dreams Weight! ....Jonathan Sullivan, New England Music Revue
