LaTonya Scott is a psalmist, songwriter and independent Christian recording artist. She was born and raised in Chicago and is now currently pursuing her music ministry full time while raising her two sons in Georgia. She has recorded four CD’s: "Freedom," (the most recent) "Higher:Acoustic Version" released in April of 2011, "Victorious" released in 2009, and “Prodigal Son,” released in 2004. Two of her songs, “How Can I” and “Hold On,” were produced by Floyd Thomas, founder of A1O Records, and keyboard player for J.Moss.
LaTonya has ministered at numerous churches and events throughout Chicago, Indiana, Michigan, and in the Greater Atlanta area. She began playing the acoustic guitar in the summer of 2010 after being laid off from teaching Middle School Mathematics. LaTonya is a Praise and Worship Leader and is very passionate about her music ministry. She also enjoys reaching out and mentoring young people.
LaTonya was blessed and privileged to publish 3 books that involved 10 of her former students that she taught and mentored in Benton Harbor, MI. She was determined to do something positive in the lives of young people.
