The Briscoe County Vultures / Bio

Founded in 2011, The Briscoe County Vultures fill a unique niche in the Detroit music scene. Combining classic country and rockabilly roots with old school punk rock, this 6-piece band has firmly implanted themselves in the “cowpunk” musical genre. These seasoned musicians wield a vicious wall of sound, drawing inspiration from earlier cowpunk and rockabilly artists, such as Johnny Cash, The Supersuckers and The Reverend Horton Heat. The tight-knit performances of these motor city cowboys and their country rose cover many traditional country themes, such as heartbreak, drinking, fighting and revenge. Their music is fun, upbeat and extremely danceable. The Vultures have branded their mark on the greater-Detroit area by headlining lots of shows and opening for several large regional/national acts. Currently the Vultures are working on their first EP, which can be expected out in Spring/Summer 2013. Keep an eye out for great things from this band and be sure to catch one of their upcoming shows soon!!!
