Number Station tears through the walls of genre specificity, blending
fundamentals of shoegaze, post-punk, and hardcore into an unseen
element of dark-innovative, political, and sometimes melodic onlsaught of guileless and brazen sound.Formed in 2012 in Sacramento, California, Number Station seeks to create a oceansize breath in a scene long divided musically, but united ideologically.
rmer vocalist and songwritter of A-F Record’s Pipedown, and of Lorelei Record’s Dance For Destruction, has sought to grow a new dream musically with this band; with the hopes of developing songs to span the underground scene, to bring unity, clarity, and inclusiveness to fans and communities.
After attracting the interest of longtime friend and guitarist Chris O’Keefe and a 6 month collaboration, other long time friends and past band mates , Pat Freeman (bass), Barry Crider (guitar, vox), and Jonathan Barklage (drums) joined the whirl. Drawing from influences such as Deafheaven, From Ashes Rise, La Dispute, Catherine Wheel, Glassjaw, and Far, Number Station has began the process of building their own legacy.
Number Station’s first self-titled EP will be avail in November 2012. They have just begun their heartfelt-affecting live performances; and with plans of touring throught 2013 and beyond, expect them locally soon…
The combining of the dark ambience of Shoegaze, with that of the passion,
aggression, and ethic of a radical political movement equates into the ardor
sound of Number Station.
