Mona Lace is a singer/songwriter from Brawley, California. After having sang in church choirs as a child and young adlut, she decided in 2010 to become a songwriter like her influences Alicia keys, Mary J Blidge and Sade. Thanks to her talent for writing radio-friendly hooks that connect with audiences with the first listen of her voice, her songs have been recieving a lot of accolades from friends, family and audiences at local clubs where she has performed.
A writer of instinct, Leticia has a flair for writing catchy hooks that leave the listener moved by the raw emotion in them. Although her roots are firmly placed in R&B, she drwas inspiration from many different lyrical influences. "My style is versatile"... I can write a spanish ballad today, and the next an alternative melody will come out of me, and I'll be like, ... where did that come from?" It's that versatility that has numerous artists from different areas interested in her.
Music is not a new passion for Mona Lace: after years of singing for family and friends, Mona Lace started writing at the tender age of 13. "I wrote my first song and performed it for my mother, sisters and brother, it was titled Lucky Star, my mom and siblings till this day remember it clearly and can sing it for you, because it was catchy", she says with a hearty laughter. But, it wasn't until she met her ex boyfriend who was an inspiring music producer working with local artists, that she decided to make music her life dream. For the next several years however, life took her through many trials and tribulations. She studied and held different jobs. Music, truth be told, was never far from her mind. "I always knew it was only a matter of time until I would get back in the music, because while I washed dishes melodies would come to me and lyrics, I would put the plate down and quickly grab a note pad and pen and start writing". Moreover, changes in life has made her aware of the talent she has and wants to share it with you.
Now back to her birthplace Brawley, a city in Imperial County, California - A town with significant cattle and feed industry that hosts the annual Cattle Call Rodeo. Year-round agriculture is an important economic activity in Brawley. Summer daytime temperatures often exceed 120 °F (49 °C). Mona Lace is sharing her time between enjoying nature, family, friends and spending plenty of time in the studio where she writes material she hopes will be pitched to publishing companies in the near future. Based on the reception of her lattest compositions, the future looks promising!
