California Gold Rush is a folk/country band from Los Angeles formed by David Lorango. Their songs combines the sounds of classic and contemporary American country/folk/Americana while singing stories about the heartland and heartbreak.
In June of 2010, Lorango recorded “Tolerable Cruelty” with guitarist and producer Tony Daltorio. Inspired by the hard hard economic times, the sound was inspired by the lyrics of Woody Guthrie and the music of trios like the Carter Family and blues legends such as Howlin' Wolf. In 2012, Lorango began recording with producer Tommy Dill, putting out two new songs – “All I See (Is the Beauty),” an inspirational song with hints of gospel awakening. In 2012, California Gold Rush brought on guitarist/song-writer Alex Jordan, and wrote/recorded "Tomorrow I Will Die" a guitar and harmony based folk tune dedicated to our fallen veterans.
California Gold Rush is currently working on an EP entitled “Down and Dirty” and is playing shows in the South West.
