Born out a love of music, our family grew into a band rather than forming one intentionally. From the time that the kids were little, Stuart played music around the house, and Dawn sang along. Time passed, and each of the kids grew into music, and fitting their own talents and interests into the whole almost accidentally. These days, we blend our tastes, resulting in an Americana mix of country, pop, and folk that we call our own.
Stuart: Our primary songwriter and lead vocalist, wears a lot of hats, from graphic design and marketing, to mentoring, and arranging, to video and sound recording, pushing everyone to try new things, grow, and constantly improve.
Devon: Our bass and trumpet player, with more and more vocal roles thrown at him. Our oldest is well into his teens, and really stepped up in the 2013 season. His growth has transformed our sound.
Dawn: Our female vocalist, with aspirations of guitar playing. She's been singing for years, and has been working hard at learning the guitar. Unfortunately, lately her health has been suffering, so singing is not always possible. She has been pushing her guitar skills even more, in order to continue to contribute to the band.
Bridget: Our youngest member, and the one with the most fluctuation in her involvement. In 2012, Bridget was our percussionist, present at most of our shows. By spring 2013, her interest wained, though she is returning to rehearsals and we hope to have her back on track for the holiday shows, and next season.
Together, we're doing our best to manage being a family, and being a band while keeping things light, fun, and moving forward. We've been at it two years now, and wouldn't trade it for anything.
