The GiGi Sisters are three sisters from Mississauga, ON, Canada, ages twenty, eighteen and fifteen years old. Trained with a classical music (piano) background, their music style is of an indie/country/folk/rock/dance pop nature, and they do both cover songs as well as original songs in their repertoire. The GiGi Sisters sing in three-part harmony they create, while playing various instruments such as the piano, guitar, and violin simultaneously. Having independently released two EP CD’s in the past five months, (currently have finalized a third EP) The GiGi Sisters have been working extremely hard to perform and promote their music as much as they possibly can. Ever since they were little kids, Alexandra, Stefanie and Katharine Petkovski were involved with music; performing at various festivals, competitions and concerts showcasing their talent. With a deep love and desire for songwriting, singing and performing, the three sisters decided on becoming an official band seven months ago, uploading music to Youtube (currently having accumulated up to 85,000 views) and creating various web pages, such as their facebook page: www.facebook.com/theGiGisisters. Starting off performing at local retirement centers for the elderly, The GiGi Sisters quickly began to perform at bigger venues, including opening for the popular Mississauga Waterfront Festival. Having been nominated as Star Central Magazine’s ‘Artist Group’ of the month and Artists of the Year (2012), as well as having been the featured article in the Arts and Entertainment section of the Mississauga Newspaper multiple times, The GiGi Sisters are thrilled at the positive feedback they have been receiving within this short period of time. The GiGi Sisters have performed at various shows/venues, including the Woodbridge Festival, The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, the Port Credit Farmers Market, The Central in downtown Toronto, Canadian Music Fest, etc. - to name a few. Their original songs are currently being played on the radio in Vancouver, B.C., Cornwall, Quebec and Ontario in general, and they recently charted on the folk charts in Calgary! This past month The GiGi’s have been doing a lot of promotion for their band, as well as finalizing their third EP. With three Rogers television interviews under their belt, and a small tour in the U.S. coming up in June (opening for The X Factor's Jill Jensen), The GiGi Sisters are excited to continue creating music – sharing their passion for songwriting, singing and performing with the world!
