Wesley Lunsford / Bio

Up and coming singer/songwriter Wesley Lunsford was born on July 21, 1982. Growing up in Raleigh, North Carolina, Wesley was first influenced by the sounds of his father strumming his '73 Alvarez, his mother's voice, and Michael Jackson playing on the radio. Now a seasoned guitarist, lyricist and vocalist, Wesley was first entranced by the violin. He began playing Suzuki at age 7 and continued lessons for 5 years, all while singing in church choirs and plays. In middle school, he began playing guitar and soon after began composing lyrics and melodies of his own. Upon graduation from Texas A&M University, Wesley made the move to Austin, Texas to pursue a career in music. In 2005, Matt Noveskey of Blue October heard Wesley on stage at an open mic in Austin. Following the performance, Noveskey—impressed—introduced himself and offered to lend his hand with Wesley's music. The Mixlab Demonstration, produced by Noveskey, unites Wesley Lunsford's heartfelt lyrics with chill-inducing vocals and standout harmonies that beckon you to sing along. All of these elements produce a unique sound that makes up his first studio endeavor. With standout tracks such as Bells and Clicks, which takes a sobering, yet beautiful, look at the death of a loved one, and 5:15, a straight-ahead rock song showcasing Wesley's vocal styles, look for the music of this young showman to be a major contributor in the music landscape for years to come. A strong start already under his belt, with special on-stage appearances with Better Than Ezra and Gavin Degraw, Wesley has persistently shown he has the drive and talent to take this passion further and further... and further.
