Chris Evans The Drummer / Bio

I grew up in a small town named Greenville, Texas. It's located in the shadow of Dallas, Texas where I cut my teeth playing live shows. Growing up I was inundated with songs from The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and countless other timeless music groups from the 60's and 70's. I was often annoyed by my father's choice of music in my adolescence but as I matured as a musician, I became incredibly grateful for my exposure to that music at such a young age. Little did I know that Charlie Watts and John Bohnam were what drove those songs and that they would become some of my biggest influences. After high school I studied music for two years at Tyler Junior College under the instruction of Tom McGowan before moving back home to further my career as a percussive artist. Over the next few years I toured the country with multiple bands and played drums on several recordings. I was a member of Jonathan Jeter and The Revelators for three years. In that time we saw thousands of highway miles, regional success, and many opportunities to share the stage with nationally acclaimed artists. During the last year of my involvement with that project I was also very busy with Brandon Callies Band working on tunes and recording our debut full-length album “The Gunner” which also features an avant-garde collaboration between Brandon Callies and myself, entitled “The Gunner: Prelude”. In December 2011 I parted ways with Jonathan Jeter and The Revelators to relocate to Austin, Texas where I joined Black Books. I currently live in Austin and perform with both Brandon Callies Band and Black Books. I am available for recording sessions.
