Mike M. and Rich H. started this project after seeing an all tribute band show at the Scene Pavillion in Cleveland, OH, called the Monster of Rock. They realized they had the passion and the ability needed to execute Metallica music. "We needed axemen." Mike recalls. "At the time, Rich and I were in a cover band with Tim Morgan. We approached him & he responded with a resounding 'YES!'. Finally, we needed the right James. Enter Rich Kesseg. Rich Hattery and I worked with him in a band called Concrete Sledge. He was doing an original project at the time called JUNKBONE. He seemed jazzed to do this as an amazing side project. We started rehearsing in September 2004, and debuted at the Carriage House in Louisville, OH in January 2005."
2005 also saw the band travel to Marion, Salem, Erie, Geneva on the Lake, Canton, Alliance, and Louisville. "We headlined the Rock 107 Factory of Terror event that year" Mike recalls. 2006 took them to Pittsburgh, Akron, and North Canton.
2007 was an "off" year due to circumstances beyond the bands collective control. This would also signal the end of a great run with Rich Kesseg, as he decided to leave the band. Rich K's contribution was critical to the early success of The Four Horsemen.
We added the talented Sean Perry in 2008. He has the combination of skill and talent that it takes to pull off an uncanny James Hetfield, not only in the powerful singing, but also the album-styled screams of the early Metallica songs, as well as precision guitar acrobatics and a dominating, high energy on-stage presence. He was also the founding member of Cleveland Ohio based 'ANTITHESIS' (Massacre Records - Germany) and stayed with them for nearly 9 years during which time they released 2 full length albums (1999 & 2000) and finished a 3rd that had not been released until 2012. He was also the lead singer of the Alice In Chains tribute THEM BONES for 2+yrs, as well as lead singer in a dance band 'Tung N Groove' for 2yrs. He has a vast vocal style that is hard to pin down to just one genre, and is a jokester most of the time.
2009 brought more gigs and bigger crowds as the band steadily made a name for itself in the outskirts of it's home base, but would prove to be the last year with Tim Morgan on lead guitar. Tim decided to leave the band in December on good terms to pursue other musical interests. His talent, precision and character would be missed, and the band wished him the best.
Enter Mikey B. Lial on lead guitar in January of 2010. Mikey came down to Canton from Sandusky for a rehearsal/try-out and nailed virtually every song on the current song roster in just one afternoon. His enthusiasm for the project, down to earth personality, as well as his phenomenal playing ability fit the band perfectly. "I had known Mikey for years", Sean explains, "but never thought he'd want to join a band when it was so far away from where he lived". Mikey was excited to to try out but Sean knew it wasn't even necessary. "I told the guys that I had a good friend who would be perfect for the band. They weren't too keen on this since they had never met or seen Mikey play, but once we got him down to jam, there was no question he was in." You can also catch him in a dance band called Neon Black out in the Sandusky area, where the local scene watches him shred through the classic hair band songs from the 80s.
2010 and 2011 were filled with shows, videos, new merchandising and promotional materials, including a 4 song demo CD, totally re-vamped logo, poster and t-shirt artwork. The band has also decided that the thrash days of Metallica will be the focus of the sight and sound of their live performances - bringing what Sean calls the "Black & Back" days of Metallica to the audience. Even more changes to the show are in the works, with a few surprises here and there, all to create the ultimate experience for the casual and hard core Metallica fans!
