HIWAY 45 is a Regina based rock band here to help, what some say is, a genre in need of saving. They believe rock is alive and well, and are here to prove it!
With a sound that is hard hitting, yet pleasing to listen to, HIWAY 45’s sound could possibly be described as a blend of the musical stylings of Clutch, Seether and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Warren Seeman’s growly vocals and heavy riffs are a perfect match for the simple, yet methodical, bass lines of Aaron Bondarchuk, and the catchy, well toned, guitar licks put down by Brent Hedstrom. And they are all brought together with the steady rock beats of Angelo Pierno’s drumming.
HIWAY 45 started off as a bunch of buddies having fun and playing tunes in a living room in Regina, in the fall of 2010. Shortly after HIWAY 45 was formed, songs were being made, and gigs started getting played. HIWAY 45 has played the local Regina music scene for almost two years now, including such locations as The Distrikt, The Gaslight Saloon, and McNally’s Tavern (where an attendance record for their local band night was set). HIWAY 45 has also had their song “Hiway 45” played on the local rock station 104.9 The Wolf, and are still looking to expand their fan base. The band has been together for approximately two years and is still having fun doing what they do, which is trying to make music that their listeners actually enjoy listening to, that isn’t too heavy….but isn’t too light either.
Although none of HIWAY 45 has had any formal musical educations, they have all been actively involved in music for many years. And it’s this combination of free spirited raw talent that has been joined and blended together that has created that perfect kick ass sound known as HIWAY 45.
Hope you enjoy!!!
